DALLAS, March 2, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- AT&T * is working with Sany America to monitor and manage its heavy equipment machinery in North America with telematics services. Telematics services from AT&T gives commercial equipment manufacturers, and the fleet owners of this equipment, a turnkey solution that's easy to use and cost effective. Sany America has teamed with AT&T to introduce this state of the art telematics service on its heavy machinery, beginning with excavators, and plans to expand to other products in the near future.
At the heart of telematics services with AT&T is the AT&T Global SIM; and the AT&T M2M Application platform. The solution also provides a management and monitoring portal, which is accessible on a smartphone, tablet or PC. This combination gives companies the ability to better protect and manage their heavy equipment assets remotely and gain operational efficiencies.
Telematics services from AT&T for commercial equipment include:
Location and history so you can know where your equipment is at the time you view it and also a history of where it was operating previously.
Detailed reports on how your equipment is being used, assuring you get the most out of your assets.
Geo-fencing alerts which let you set up an area and then immediately receive alerts when equipment has moved into or out of that defined area.
Real-time diagnostic and condition alerts notify you of any equipment service needs or the possibility of component failures. This also assists in maintenance planning and tracking.
"For commercial equipment owners, knowing the exact location and condition of the machinery is critical," said Mike Troiano, vice president, Industrial Internet of Things, AT&T Mobility. "Historically, commercial equipment manufacturers have paid a hefty price to get effective resource management solutions. Our telematics services offers them a cost-effective and simple solution that can be implemented quickly and globally."
"The close collaboration with AT&T to develop a telematics solution is allowing Sany America to offer our dealers and customers an industry leading tool to remotely track, manage and troubleshoot their equipment fleets," said Andy Clevenger, vice president at Sany America. "We are truly excited to introduce the telematics services from AT&T solution to provide our customers with a more integrated and closer customer experience with Sany America and its products and services."
AT&T is committed to meeting the unique needs of commercial equipment manufacturers and owners. For the past three years, AT&T has been an active corporate sponsor and member of the Association of Equipment Management Professionals (AEMP). In fact, AT&T helped create the development of the AEMP telematics standard for the Heavy Equipment sector, which is used in AT&T's solution.
If “one good thing leads to another,” the good folks at Mohawk Northeast, Inc., serve as a great example of how true that adage really is. So totally impressed was the firm with its purchase of a Sany SCC8300 (330 U.S. ton) crawler crane several years ago that an SCC8200 (220 U.S. ton) crawler crane was added and then an SCC8150 (165 U.S. ton) crawler crane and two Sany rough terrain cranes. And now Mohawk is planning to add yet another Sany machine to its fleet.
The SCC8300 was chosen over another brand to meet some very stringent, U.S. Navy barge-mounted project specifications. The company was faced with either just getting by with other machines or doing things the right way. Mohawk chose the “right way” andpurchased theSany 8300 crawler crane from Binder Machinery (of South Plainfield, NJ) and is completely happy with that decision.
“Today, after almost three years of constant use, that crane has had no issues – especially given the size of the machine, and all of its parts and pieces,” says company president Allan Heinke.
Allan speaks glowingly of his decision to go with Sany as well as the performance of the SCC300: “We saw the Sany machine at ConExpo about three years ago, liked what we saw, like what we heard, and began talks to make a purchase.”
Allan has been very impressed with Sany: “We’re more than satisfied in our dealings with Sany. They always seem to stock just what we need. And we receive just what we ask for in a matter of only days.”
With its eye-catching, ergonomic cab styled by Porsche Design Studios and 300 metric-ton lifting capacity, the SCC8300 features a Cummins QSM11, 400 hp @ 1,800 rpm engine, Rexroth pumps and drive motors, Sany’s own LMI with large display screen, and no less than seven main boom, fixed jib and luffing jib configurations. Other standard items include main drum bail limits, a main drum and rear counterweight camera system, a basic machine lighting package for dim or unlit work sites, a pharos (anemometer) and aircraft warning beacon.
Totally pleased with the first Sany purchase, Allan explains that “after six months with the SCC8300,we needed to replace another piece of equipment and bought an SCC8200 crawler crane.” And it was not long afterwards that Mohawk added another Sany machine, the SCC8150 crawler crane(for its U.S. Navy and other projects) and also owns two Sany SRC865XL rough terrain cranesas well – and is absolutely thrilled with all of them. Regarding the SRC865XL cranes, Allan says, “We like them . . . they’re very easy to operate.”

Cordele, Georgia (August 3, 2016) – Governor of Georgia, Nathan Deal, spoke at an event today endorsing the expansion of the Cordele Intermodal Services inland terminal. Deal announced an agreement between Kia Motors Manufacturing and Cordele Intermodal Services, which he said “will reduce congestion on our highways and lower transportation costs.” CIS is a privately operated rail terminal that moves freight between Cordele and the Port of Savannah. This agreement with Kia will bring up to 30,000 containers per year into the rail terminal.
Cordele Intermodal Services currently utilizes one SANY reach stacker in their daily operation. With this expansion CIS has added another SANY reach stacker. The new SRSC4545C2 is capable of lifting 50 tons and it can stack containers 5 units high. CIS is excited to have this machine because it will allow them to reach over the first set of tracks and lift loaded containers off the back set of tracks. The new SANY reach stacker will greatly increase the productivity of the Cordele rail terminal.
